Summary of Technology from the 20th century to 21st Century
During this period there was a vast amount of creations and changes to technology. During this period saw the advancement of many valued products we use today from the transformation of black and white television to colour television. The invention of the vacuum cleaner in 1901 by mister Hubert Booth. The introduction of the air conditioner in 1902 by Willis Carver. Moreover one of the most important creation of this period even is the first gas motored and manned plane built by the wright brothers, without such a creation there would be no airline services in which we use so conveniently today and which we take for granted.
An Introduction to the blog
Since there were many technological creations and advancements from the 20th century to the 21st century and the fact that we use many of the developed forms of technology today for granted. This blog aims to show appreciation for the creation and development of technology by showing how common technologies used today have evolved since its creation. Also any adherent problems associated with evolving technology.

A brief history lesson: What caused the rapid innovation in technology from 20th century to the 21st?
What caused this rapid innovation in technology from 20th century to the 21st century? I thought I’d talk about this to make a sought of tribute to mankind’s innovative minds that has brought us to where we are today, we are living in a world full of innovative inventions though what sparked this is what is truly interesting.
The main reasons to the causes of these innovations being so rapid is due to:
1. The innovations where largely on a universal scale affecting almost everybody in the world, for example the invention of the telephone by Alexander graham bell in 1854 was only universally scaled in the 20th century. The effect was on a large scale allowing people from any economic status to have the ability to purchase these in their own home.
2. The technologies were diverse and were impacted by the innovation in the sciences such as Neuro science and the advancement in Medicine and quantum mathematics which allowed for a spark in a rapid innovative revolution.
3. The last main reason is due to the development of technologies such as telephones, computers power plants motor vehicles generators etc, these had an immense effect on the development of new and innovative products, whilst allowing for a great deal of amount of capital investment of companies into the development of these many future innovations creating a high amount of quantity and quality of these technologies such as allowing everybody in the world to have a taste of the future.

Technological changes and problems that arise in education
3/12/2013
There are existing problems adherent as technology progresses. These problems are perhaps invisible to the individuals of countries of high gross domestic product such as Australia. Particularly this problem mainly exists for third world countries like Libia. The problem is the great ‘digital divide’ As technology develops it would be obvious that it would cost more to produce, countries such as Libia cannot afford the resources to obtain the latest technology. Hence this is the problem of the digital divide. Is it possible for an average person living on a dollar a day In Libia to buy the latest iPhone or apple product? It is impossible. Hence they are using out-dated technology. They miss out on important opportunities involved because they miss out. These opportunities may include more access to wealthy, multimedia content, the rising use of online tutor to available at home, not only class room, the extensive accessibility of mobile computing devices which could use the Internet, moreover, people can connect and watch professional by using social networking tools for learning and professional development, and digital games.

Different types of technology
There are many different types of technologies that we can consider, these can be grouped in many ways, however the most simple and practical way to group different technologies is:
1. Administrative technology - which is used to perform and support administrative function, these consists of fax machines, telephones, photocopiers, etc.
2. Assistive technology- This form of technology is used for educational purposes and used to support the learning of students with disabilities, this consists of tape recorders, computers, calculators, speech-to-text writer, etc. This category of technology includes various pieces used to assist or support students for educational purposes who suffer from learning./ physical disabilities. An example of assistive technology being used is for example, a student who suffers from visual dysfunction can have problem reading texts, however this can be compensated with the use of assistive technology such as a tape recorder.
3. Instructional technology - This form of technology is generally known as "basic", these include televisions, tape and video cassettes recorders, and computer and computer peripherals.
There are many ways technology can be used and many forms of technology throughout the years, and many advancements in technology have occurred in recent years. An example of this can be the use of overhead projectors which were used to enlarge static images, however an advancement of this throughout recent years is data projectors, which enlarges moving images and provides sound, therefore it being considered multimedia technology, which is another one of many category's of technology.

Phones are one of the technological products that have changed widely between the 20th and 21st century. A telephone was electrical contrivance for reproducing in distant places the tones and articulations of a speaker's voice. Early telephones were locally powered, using a dynamic transmitter or else powering the transmitter with a local battery and had only one wire for both transmitting and receiving of audio, and used a ground return path, as was found in telegraph systems. It was basically simple just dial the number and then talk. With the technology going up phones started to be more efficient and widely used, it connects to more places and have a good signal. The first phone was just a simple one with no camera and special features; it was all about communicating with two signals that comes out of the phone, then the advent of Voice over Internet Protocol methods of allowing people to make voice calls over the Internet on packet-switched routes. The phones were really big and the usage of it is limited , but through the years and after 2000 companies made a big impact on the phone industry where the size of it has changed to a pocket size phone where they first invented simple games then cameras with normal quality but after 2005 phones started to be the peoples friend where everyone can listen to music organise their life on the phone take pictures with a high quality camera, a long life battery, touched screen, waterproof phones and high quality games to a stage that people these days they can talk with their phones.
Phones in the 21st century had really took over peoples life and became their close friend where all the features to make people enjoy their phone.

7/12/13 How I used technology today
Look around you. There is technology everywhere. Even as you read this you are using technology. This was a realisation that had occurred to me prior to thinking about what to write for this blog. So to start today was a really hot day, I had to turn on the air conditioner and leave it on all day. Imagine how hot and frustrating it would be for me if I were to go without it. Not to mention earlier times there was only the fan, which meant you had to sit in front of it to enjoy the comfort and relaxation of it. Technology improvement to me, means a better standard of living which in turn equates to a comfortable longer life. Think of Japan for instance perhaps one of the most technologically advanced countries if not the MOST technologically advanced country in the world. Look at their life expectancy. It is the highest in the world. If you lived in this country your average life expectancy would be 83. Whereas compared to a country not so technological advanced Swaziland for instance. The average life expectancy for this country is 31 years young! Coming from my perspective, that to me is totally nuts as I am only 20 and if you were to tell me I'd die in 10 years time, there wouldn't be enough time to experience life fully. So as I reflect as I write this blog, technology creations and advancements has benefited man kind immensely, greatly increasing the average life expectancy to whoever has the privilege to enjoy its comfort.

A Possible Solution
Here are some possible solutions to the what seems to be the everlasting problem of the increasing gap in available access to updated technology between users. Consider America for example. The country exhibits vast differences of updated technology between districts. However this problem is not access to Internet. About 97% of schools across the country have access to the Internet. The problem lies with issues such as finding enough band with to run more complex applications in the classroom such as for example streaming video. The reason i point this out is to show the ongoing problem, that despite you fix one issue with technology such as providing everyone with Internet access. There will always be a new issue that takes its place as technology is always improving. This in my opinion will always forever will be an issue. Thus I think to deal with this is to merely help better the problem rather fix it in its entirety. One solution is the Federal commission, which promises to unveil the national broadband plan. Schools will be able to gain more band with with the introduction of fibre technology.

What impacts has innovation in technology, had on the developing world ?
Advancements in the world of technology is crucial and has had impacts and important changes, though not only just to the structured economies of the east and western civilisations but have had an immense impact on the developing world, countries such as south Africa, north India and the rest of the 3rd world nations and developing world. Advancements in the sciences and chemistry have allowed for not only future development, but current applications of mobile technologies that make it possible to have access to information that is transforming, whether it’s tracking disease outbreaks or educating children. Over the 2 centuries scientists have developed technologies that have affected these developing nations the impact can be seen as a disease that kills 655,00 people every year in south Africa, a disease called malaria, is on the verge to being cured.. The innovations in technology have lead to the program of educating children; the program called OLPC (ONE LAPTOP PER CHILD) can be seen as n important innovation to the growth of a nation. The initiative is to increase education levels and to concentrate the ability of more education to translate to entrepreneurial talent, more entrepreneurial talent means more success in the nation. The innovation in technology has allowed the ability for laptops to be made out of such cheap materials that they can be sold for $100 each, making education more important than revenue in this case. Incredibly, new information technologies are paving a path potentially for developing countries in ways that are not only empowering, but revolutionary. As new innovations and new possibilities continue to be presented, the digital future is the near digital present. I’m eager to see what’s next.

Technology has advanced dramatically over recent years, one piece of technology which has not only advanced dramatically but is the most common, fastest and most high tech piece of technology in the market now, is the Apple I phone. The Apple I phone is in line of a few smart phones designed by Apple inc, and runs on the Apple i OS mobile operating system. Apple has many versions of the i phone, the first generation I phone was released in June 29th, 2007, with the most recent I phone being the seventh-generation I phone 5C and the i phone 5S which were introduced on the 10th of September 2013.
The Apple I phone consists of a user interface which is built around the device's multi-touch screen, including a virtual keyboard. The I phone has Wi-Fi and cellular connectivity which is only available on the 2G,3G, 4G and LTE models. The I phone has many other features, it can shoot videos ( which was only available after the 3G models), take photos, play music, send and receive emails, browse the web, send texts, and receive visual voice mail. Other functions available on the I phone is video- games, reference work, GPS navigation, social networking, and many more, these all can be enabled by downloading apps through the apple app store, the apple app store offered more then one million apps for apple products and associates as of October 2013.
Apple has made seven generations of I phone models, each accompanied by on of the six major releases of iOS. There has been many advancements of the I phone from the 1st generation to the seventh, the first generation I phone was a GSM phone and had similar designs, such as a button placement that has persisted through all models and a screen size maintained for the next for generations. The I phone 3G had a few advancements in technology as the 3G had cellular network capabilities and A-GPS location. The I phone 3GS had a faster processor and a higher-resolution camera that could record videos at 480p. The I phone 4 had a higher resolution 960*640 "Retina display", a VGA front-facing camera for video calling and other apps, and a 5-megapixel camera rear-facing camera with 720p video capture. The I phone 4S upgrades to a 8 mega-pixel camera with a 1080p high definition video recording, a dual-core A5 processor, and a natural language voice control system called Siri. The I phone 5 features the dual-core A6 processor, increases in size of the retina display to 4 inches, and replaces the 30 pin connector with an all digital lighting connector. The I phone 5 has a dual core 64 bit A7 processor, an updated camera with a larger aperture and a dual- LED flash, and the touch ID finger print scanner, integrated into the home button. There has been a dramatic increase in the use of technology from the 20th century to the 21st century, and a dramatic increase in the use of apple products, especially the Apple I phone.
Technology changes everyday and new and better products are invented with better features, high tech and much more capabilities then an average human, technology is what drives our world today and changes very frequently, too frequently for an average human to keep up with it, the Apple I phone is a clear example as there has been dramatic increases in technology features and software from the 1st generation I phone to currently the 7th generation I phone 5S AND 5C and with technology driving our generation today these advancements in products and technology will keep coming, especially in the Apple market.

14/12/13 The ease that comes with improving technology.
I will now explain the concept of globalisation and how technological improvements have contributed to the ease of globalisation.Globalisation can be defined as the increasing economic and financial integration of economies around the world. In other words the world becoming smaller and more integrated. Technology is the main contributor to this why? Think of devices such as your iphone which has the facetime application Or skype. These applications let you talk to people from anywhere around the world. A person in America talking to someone in Australia, both two different timezones are able to communicate to each other at exactly the same time. Technologies like these have made conference meetings for businesses much easier and convenient, as business meetings now happen through virtual conference, unlike the past where business partners or deals had to be made face to face. Hence this is why technology has made the world a smaller, simpler integrated place. With further improvements in technology will mean further ease for the human race and a simpler world in which we live.

How Social Network ironically disconnects peoples
In my personal opinion, i believe that social network actually isolates people instead of connecting people together. Over a decade ago, when technology was not as advanced as today, people were more connected with each other, such as the aspects of creating a new relationship with someone you have interest with, you would go through all the procedures in getting to know them, like intitiating in exchanging telephone numbers, asking what they're plans are for the day, you are intrigued in allowing yourself to find out more about the person. Where as technology now, it defeats the purpose of getting to know someone, in the notion of knowing what they are doing and who they are; people consistently update their where about and update their personal information, by doing that, it allows you to know who they are before you even meet them.

How did computers as a technology product change from then to now ?
Computers are one of the best if not the best product invented in the industry of technology. Computers have changed and are more useful and helpful in all industries, computers before were just a device with limited usage, it used to have limited functions where the processer of it was really slow, with simple features in it and very small hard disk where it can’t be enough for much information to be saved in it. But from the start of the 21st century computers have changed in a big and massive aspect. The CPU, or central processing unit, can be designed or instructed to perform any number of different tasks where this feature can process with many tasks different than old computers, then (RAM: random-access memory) can retain information for the computer's own use while processing data; another kind (ROM: read-only memory) can hold necessary reference information even while the computer is off and that what makes a big difference between the two centuries. Computers these days contains more and more features like a camera where it possible to have photos video chat with anyone through the computer, very light it can be taken anywhere with no problems, bigger battery which it last longer than old computers. In addition to that modern computers have got the ability to run a high definition video game with its high VGA (Video Graphic Array). Finally the computers have really changed and are more useful than before where it is legit to say that it is highly unlikely to have a normal life without a computer.

What is the Payoff to Innovation in technology?
Innovative technologies have shown us that creating a product such as a telephone and then innovating on it, making it better It and turning it into a mobile phone for example does have really great payoffs not only to the business with plenty of capital but the to the distinct target market which is being the entire globe. However, the payoff from innovations is often in the distant and uncertain future in which it was drastic, as we can see today, using the internet as an example. Web 1.0 was the start of a new age though it was mediocre and wasn’t really interesting it was slow and boring, though it was a key to the information age we live in today. Once we believed Web 2.0, was in its era we could start to see how internet was paying off for both the user and the companies around the world, which were also users. Companies can see if it’s paying off for them in capital by turning to the stock market to assess how the market values in investments in innovations are going. If there is any price hike at all it reflects how innovation has affected the market, e.g. the price of stock in the company. However Internet as an example allowed communication too really “put its foot down”, showing us that the pay off was incredible, this being transportation communication and even helped with Globalization of nations opening up barriers of trade to the world increasing revenue for countries. The use of the internet today is almost the entire population of earth, we see how products such as laptops being innovated have helped the developing nations of the world giving the starving children in Africa a chance to be educated possibly the same way you and me are today, the pay off can undoubtedly be noticeable though we continue to innovate now to better the future life we shall one day live in.

TEENAGERS AND GAMES
Teenagers, who play games, have the highest reflexes, thanks to video games, and obviously sports. Parents may think that all that button pushing and game playing may make your teenager addicted, and it does. The only benefits that come from video games are high reflexes, strong and flexible fingers and joints, and a higher processing brain with advanced eye and hand coordination.
On the other hand, teenagers may become completely addicted to video games and they do not go to work (or school), do not eat properly and do not exercise enough. Teenagers can become desensitized to violence when they play a lot of violent video games. There have been reports of criminals copying violent video game crimes (such as those featured in the controversial Grand Theft Auto series). Video games may give teenagers false expectations of real life, as real life cannot be perfectly simulated by video games.
Recommendations:
- Join your teenager in playing family oriented video games
- Make sure you look at the advisory for PQ rating for each game
- Limit the video game playing in your house
- Limit the access to violent video games
It is nearly impossible to avoid media, whether or not it’s electronic or print. Media surrounds us through the radio, TV, internet, magazines and music. Music can affect teenager’s hair, clothing, and lifestyle. Teenagers listen to the words of music like a sponge and absorb it without thinking about how the music they are listening to may affect them. Whether we listen to music on the radio, IPOD, MP3 Player or on TV, music surrounds us and can impact teenagers either positively or negatively.

Cameras and the biggest change from then to now :
Our final technology product we will talk about in our blog and how it changes is a camera. Cameras have changed in a crazy way from 20th century to the 21st. First old cameras, the golden age of wood cameras lasted from the birth of photography in 1839 to the early part of the 20th century they used to be really bulky and big and heavy and a short life battery, where photos used to come out black and white with no special features for the photo and a really low resolution since it had as well low mega pixels quality, it used to take time till the camera flashes and takes the photo and no ability to film with it. Then the digital cameras came out and that was the big deal, a camera which is light small to a stage that anyone can put it in their pockets, nice design where the lens was bigger, quick action for taking the photo. In addition, the saying was more mega pixels are always better so new ones come out with a high mega pixels of resolution. New cameras are able film since it got a long life battery which it lasts for a very long time. Finally, internet had a access with the new cameras since anyone can send photos directly from the camera to social networks and also can send pictures with a message to friends and family via email.

How Technology has affected our everyday lives

Technology has developed and improved dramatically over recent years, this has greatly improved our lives. Technology had lead to a more simplistic, better, easier and comfortable way to live for people. There are many ways through which technology has changed pour lives, the rise of the internet technology has improved our daily lives in very many ways. Business and trade has become more simplistic and easier, as this has become much faster, and more reliable then ever before, business are now able to transact with other businesses and people who are very far away without any difficulties. Due to the advancement of technology and the development of the internet, many things have become much easier and simpler to do such as it has become easier to book railway tickets, bus tickets and even flights within the comfort of your own home without having to move or go to places to do these things. With the development of the internet many things have started to become online, the payment of bills and other account related jobs, online shopping, browsing, betting and even ordering have all become onlline, which makes it much more convenient and easier nowadays as most things being online fit into peoples everyday busy lifestyle. The introduction of ATM's have made it much easier for people to withdraw money from their bank account rather then wait for them to open and visit a branch to do this at any time of the day, making it convenient and easier to access their funds due to advancement and the introduction of technology. Technology has also made it easier and faster for business to advertise their products online through the internet.

MUSIC AND TEENAGERS
Music allows for a connection with others, inspires creativity, provide cognitive development in teenagers and builds confidence among them. On the other hand, music videos that show violence often lead teenagers to condone violence on others or themselves. Sexually charged music videos can change the view of most teenagers that premarital sex is okay. Antisocial music videos allow teenagers the acceptance of being anti-social themselves.
Recommendations:
- Evaluate what your teenager is listening to and seeing in the music videos
- Discern what your teenager is watching and discuss the music or music videos with them
- Decide if you want your teenager to be listening to this type of music, compromise with your teenager
- Provide alternatives, family activities, communicate with your teenager
- Set limits on types of music that is allowed to be played in the house
